Gainesville results) Feb 26, 2005 Gainesville was rained out and rescheduled for March 26-27 Here is the final order for qualifying. 1 6 A/FD Arthur Gallant, Boxboro MA, Dan Page-KB 5.280 265.72 265.72 ------------ Not Qualified ------------ 9 1665 A/FD Donald Gianquitto, Melrose MA, URC-BAE 5.805 251.88 251.88 Feb. 7, 2005 Bradenton Lucas Oil results Ouch! We gave one away! After dominating qualifying and the first two rounds of elimination's with victories over Robin Samsel and Ziggy Zivkovich, Guy had over a tenth on Artie Allen. "Ya we had a big advantage over Allen, and we did not change the tune-up at all. We adjusted the Wheelie bar a bit, and that is the only explanation I have. I saw yellow for sure, I guess being the final I was a little too amped up. While I am disappointed with the loss, if I had to lose to anyone, I am proud it was the Allen gang for sure. They are a great bunch of people and they did not make any mistakes. They deserve it. We'll get em at Gainesville in two weeks". The car ran great all weekend long and we did not want to get crazy and try for 5.30's. The job at hand was to repeat every round, and we did, unfortunately the driver screwed up. The only run that did not go to plan was the final qualifier Saturday night. It was run under the lights and the lighting is not really that great for these fast machines, and when I got past half track it was to dark for my liking, so I clicked it just past the 1000 foot mark. Thanks to the crew for all their hard work, we'll get em next race! results courtesy DRC Round 1 Ziggy Zivkovich Litchfield MN 5.686 235.35 def Ron Griffis Gainesville FL (NT) 1) Guy Kelly, Wadley, Ala., 5.469, 259.21 def. 9) Jason Cannon, Middleburg, Fla., 5.506, 252.31 def. 264.70 ------------ Not Qualified ------------ 9 23 A/FD Jason Cannon, Middleburg FL, URC-BAE 10.428 74.47 74.47 In round one we put a tune-up in the car that we hoped would give us a low 5.40 or possibly a high 5.30 on the board. We went out and ran a 5.43 @ 263 that put us in the # spot ahead of eight other drivers. In the second and final session, we got a little more aggressive and shook the tires and then clicked it a little early to go 5.57 at a slowing 227 mph. We stayed #1 and will face A/Fuel driver Robin Samsel in round one on Sunday.
